While these challenges are particularly unique to that of a deer living in the woods, readers will likely find some parallel to their own lives and the challenges that we all face as we age. This classic work, which was originally intended by Salten for an adult audience, has since become one the most cherished children’s stories of all time. This edition follows the translation of Whittaker Chambers and includes all the original illustrations by Kurt Wiese.
