She's barely had time to settle in, though, before her first case appears in the form of a dead homeless woman in the upstairs apartment. Three other cases follow in quick succession, and Cat investigates them with a colorful cast of housemates, neighborhood hangers-on, three cats, and a beagle puppy.
Cat Caliban is a good match for fans of older women detectives like Miss Marple and Mrs. Pollifax, as well as Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series.
